 Essex County Council will be our guests at an EALC webinar on Devolution, and what it means for local government including town and parish councils, following the publication of the Government’s White Paper at the end of last year. The webinar will also update attendees following the submission of an Interim Plan for Local Government Reorganisation for Greater Essex on 21st March.

A presentation will be given by Richard Puleston, Essex County Council’s Director of Policy, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions.

The webinar coincides with the final weeks of the Government’s consultation on Greater Essex Devolution.

This is seeking views on the proposal to form a Mayoral County Combined Authority for the local government areas of Essex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. It invites views on;

  • The proposed geography
  • The effect of establishing a Mayoral Combined County Authority
  • How the Mayoral Combined County Authority will take decisions
