Rural Crime Forum
The Rural Crime Forum is a place for police, farmers, community groups and partner agencies to come together to discuss issues in rural areas, and find solutions that meet the community’s needs.
Residents who work or own a business in a rural community and have an interest in crime prevention and community safety are asked to join, where they can have their voice heard and help contribute towards making the rural community safer.
The forum meets four times a year, in person and online, and is always looking for new members to join. If you would like to have a voice on rural issues and in making the community safer, come along to one of the forum meetings to find out more. Rural Engagement Team
The Rural Engagement Team was established with a specific focus on connecting with our rural communities. As the name implies, their mission involves engagement with the diverse rural population, constituting 72% of our county. At the EALC we aim to maintain close collaboration with the RET, regularly ensuring that our members stay well-informed about the latest crime prevention strategies within our rural communities in Essex.

Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers plays a significant part in the fight against crime. One thousand people every day contact the charity to put their trust in them with information about crime which leads to 22 arrests every day being made by police as a result of that information.
If you have any information regarding a crime, you can get in contact, completely anonymously on 0800 555 111. Members of the public are eligible to claim a reward of up to £1000 if their information given to Crimestoppers leads to a successful arrest and charge.
Safer Essex Roads Partnership (SERP)
The Safer Essex Roads Partnership has brought together the three local authority areas of Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and Thurrock Council to provide a road safety service across ‘Greater Essex’. The partnership’s purpose is to reduce death and serious injury on Essex roads to zero, an ambitious vision and one which we cannot tackle alone: each road user plays a part.
The SERP promotes road safety and casualty reduction through a number of activities, interventions, programmes and products which involve a combination of education, engagement, engineering and enforcement.

The Essex Rural Crime Strategy 2023-2026 sets out the vision of Essex Police, the Essex Rural Partnership (ERP) and the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) to work together to create a safe, secure, and resilient rural community.

community Watch Magazine
The Community Watch Magazine is a publication released every month that provides information for elderly and vulnerable residents so they can safeguard themselves from scammers, fraudsters and rogue tradesmen.
Volunteering Opportunities
All forces around the country have volunteer roles. You could be working alongside Essex Police in everything from supporting victims of hate crime to managing community events and talking to schools and local businesses.
Volunteers provide crucial support to Essex Police and work in their own time and with their own community.
